KAYTRANADA remixes the chart-topping Dua Lipa single.

Fresh off the release of the instrumentals from his critically-acclaimed album BUBBA, KAYTRANADA released a fresh remix on Friday. This time around, he offers his take on the lead single from Dua Lipa’s 2020 album Future Nostalgia.

The original track peaked at number two on both the United Kingdom Singles Billboard chart and the United States Billboard Hot 100. It spent 20 weeks in the top 10 on the US Hot 100, in Dua Lipa’s home of England, it broke a record for most weeks spent in the top 10 without reaching the top spot. The song peaked at number one in seven different countries, reaching triple diamond status in Brazil.

In the past few months, KAYTRANADA has teased the possibility of a follow-up to BUBBA. In an interview with Apple Music/Beats One’s Zane Lowe, he said he still wanted to release leftovers from the album as its own separate project. “There’s just so many tracks that didn’t make it,” he said, “I intended to put it out in two parts, I’m definitely going to do something different on the next one.”

Back in July, the Montreal-based producer teamed up with Lucky Daye for “Look Easy.” Months before that, he hopped on Instagram to preview unreleased tracks he recorded with Anderson .Paak. With his North American BUBBA tour postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is uncertain whether we’ll get a full project from him in the future.
